FOLK/BLUES TRIO, STINGY BRIMM,
AT LARZ ANDERSON AUTO MUSEUM, DECEMBER 4
Featuring John Walker, Geoff Wadsworth, Dan Bowden and special guests
Stingy Brimm – John Walker (guitar, lead vocals), Geoff Wadsworth (saxophone, harmonica, whistles) and Dan Bowden (guitar, slide guitar, mandolin) brings its engaging brand of American roots and world-influenced originals to the Larz Anderson Auto Museum (15 Newton Street, Brookline) on Sunday, December 4. Joining the band for this special show will be Bob Christopherson (piano), Greg Holt (bass) and Casey Scheuerell (percussion) with special guests Alizon Lissance (accordion), Andy Solberg (fiddle) and Jennifer Markard (vocals). Showtime is 7 PM; Admission is $12 in advance, $14 the day of show. For tickets and information, please call the museum between the hours of 10 AM and 5 PM (Tuesday through Sunday) at 617-522-6547.
The concert is timed with the release of the group’s second CD entitled; “’Case You Haven’t Heard…” (available for purchase at www.stingybrimm.com). The group released its first CD ”Sixteen Bars” in 2000 and the 14-track collection received airplay on WUMB, WERS and other stations locally and nationally.
Stingy Brimm’s performance credits include appearances at Brookline’s Festival in the Park and First Light Festivals, Sculler’s Jazz Club, The Natick Performing Arts Center, The Amazing Things Arts Center and the Plymouth (VT) Blues and Folk Festival. The band also has contributed music to the soundtracks of two community-based independent films produced by local fim maker Peter Rhodes: “Act Your Age” (2003) and “An Alien Sneezed On Brook Street” (2001).
